No matter who you are and why you want to take photos, these locations are for everyone. Here are my top 20 favorite photo spots around Colorado for your next photography sessions.
Right in the heart of downtown Denver is the infamous Union Station. I love taking photos across the street from the train station so the entire building is featured in the background. This spot screams Denver and is the perfect place to take photos if you're visiting.
Rocky Mountain National Park
1000 US Hwy 36, Estes Park, CO 80517
If you are wanting a wide variety of mountain views for your photos, Rocky Mountain National Park is your place. Our favorite area to take photos at is Bear Lake and the hiking trail that ends up at Dream Lake. Such a variety of gorgeous locations here. Make sure to bring your national park pass, or you can buy a day ticket for around $30.
9th St & Baseline Rd, Boulder, CO 80302
Boulder, Colorado is also a great area to take photos. This city sits alongside the foothills, so there are plenty of mountain views. We love hiking and taking pictures at Chautauqua, it's a must while you're in Boulder. This spot is perfect for family portraits or engagement sessions.
Lost Gulch Lookout
3998 Flagstaff Rd, Boulder, CO 80302
This beautiful lookout is located in Boulder, Colorado. The drive up is my favorite part, but the views at Lost Gulch are amazing and very popular. I suggest going at sunrise or on a weekday to avoid crowds. This spot is perfect for any photography session.

Sapphire Point Overlook
This is one of my favorite spots for photos in Colorado. It's located in Frisco, right off of I-70. The views are incredible here on sunny or snowy days.
Also in Frisco is Lake Dillon, only a few miles away from Sapphire Point. This spot is beautiful all year round, but I love taking snowy photos here especially. This is also a great spot for couples sessions.
We take a lot of photos here in Georgetown, especially if we don't want to make the drive all the way past the Eisenhower Tunnel. Georgetown Lake is a gorgeous spot for photos. We love to drive all the way down to the small pier as you can see in the last two photos or even take photos on the ice like in the first two.
Piney River Ranch
Located in Vail, Piney River Ranch is one of my all-time favorite spots in Colorado. This ranch is tucked away in the middle of nowhere with no cell service. My suggestion is to make a weekend out of your drive up here. It takes about three hours from Denver and is only open during the summer.
29950 Paint Mine Rd, Calhan, CO 80808
Paint Mines interpretive park is located near Colorado Springs. This is a hot spot for tourists, so I recommend going during the week if you can. The beautiful clay formations make for amazing photos.
My favorite place to go in the fall is Aspen, Colorado. It's a bit of a drive but so worth it. Aspen and Snowmass Village have epic fall views with all of the aspen trees. Maroon Bells is gorgeous this time of year, and highly recommend visiting this fall.
Lookout Mountain in Golden, Colorado is absolutely stunning. We love pulling off by the hiking trails to explore around and take photos. This location isn't marked but is near the bottom of the mountain going towards the town of Golden.
This drive is absolutely beautiful and is an alternate route to get to Idaho Springs. It's a __ mile road from Evergreen that ends up in the town of Idaho Springs. We drive this route in the summers, and there's plenty of places to pull off and capture those mountain views.
